Mrs. Thompson was born in Chattanooga, TN to Brooks and Odessa Thurman, and she was a beloved wife, mother of three children, and “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class, and was a former longtime member of Central Baptist Church and East Lake Baptist. Throughout her life, she held close friendships with classmates from East Lake Junior High School and Chattanooga High School, where she graduated in 1948. For over ten years, she also enjoyed her work and friendships at Nancy Bacon’s Olde Pioneer House.
She expressed her faith to her children and grandchildren through her sweet and calm manner. The twinkle in her eye and a quick wink represented a light-hearted and loving sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arthur J. Thompson, her parents, and siblings, Forrest Brooks Thurman and Mary Bess (Chester) Hatfield.
She is survived by three children, son, Mike (Miriam) Thompson of Ringgold; daughters, Nancy Thompson of Athens, GA and Amy Thompson of Knoxville; and by her much loved grandchildren Hunt (Regina) Thompson, Katie Thompson and Lacy (Andrew) Musser.
