Sarah "Ann" Barrows

Ann was born in Washington, DC and moved with her family to Chattanooga in 1944. She was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1952 and was a former member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church where she was also employed with their Nursery Program for 47 years. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church since 2004 and was also employed with the Mother’s Day Out Program at First Centenary United Methodist Church and Brainerd Baptist Church. Ann loved children and helped to raise nieces and nephews and babysit at various locations when she was needed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Albert Barrows, Sr. and Emma Mills Barrows; and sister, Cecile Gothard.

Surviving are her brother, Leslie Barrows, Jr. of Brookfield, Wisconsin; sister, Nina (Earl) Hill of Chattanooga; niece and caregiver, Sherry Hill McNeese; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Brainerd United Methodist Church, McFerrin Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the main sanctuary with Rev. Marvin Howard, Rev. Mark Davis, Rev. Terri Lowe and Rev. Dr. Dennis Flaugher officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brainerd United Methodist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Chattanooga - Attn: Walker Road Facility.
