Sharon Lee (Harris) Greene was born on January 15, 1949, in Chattanooga, Tennessee—on her mother’s birthday, which she no doubt considered excellent planning. She passed away on April 20, 2026, holding hands with her son. She was 77 years old.
Loving, compassionate, kind, curious, encouraging, and unselfish are words people have used to describe Sharon. Stubborn and insistent are appropriate, too. She will be remembered in all these ways.
Sharon enjoyed good home cooking, watching Braves Baseball and Ole Miss and Tennessee football, and ordering things she didn’t need but thought she might have a use for. It was part thrift and part optimism, with a little “you’ll see, I’ll need this someday” confidence thrown in for good measure.
Her family will miss her overstuffed Christmas gift bags filled with things (often candy or food or something cozy) she remembered you liked. Those bags were classic Sharon: attentive and quietly persistent in her mission to make sure nobody felt forgotten. She was proud of her family and their accomplishments, and she had a way of putting others first.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Birdie Lynn and Edna Mae Harris, twin brothers Lynn and Glenn Harris, and brother-in-law Mike Clark. She is survived by her sister Connie Clark, her son Zachary Greene (Caitlin), grandsons Harris and Grayson Greene, niece Alicia Burgett (Justin), nephews Chase Clark (Maria) and Tyler Clark (Morgan), great-niece McClain Burgett, great-nephews Caleb and Ian Burgett, and grand-dogs Major and Charlotte. She is also survived by her ex-husband Lee Greene and many other friends. She loved and was loved by them all.
Per Sharon's wishes there will be no public visitation or service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
