Susan Denise Brown

Susan Denise Goode Brown, 70, of East Ridge passed away Monday, October 5, 2026. She was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and the Circle of Faith Sunday School Class and had served as District President for United Methodist Women. Susan was a graduate of East Ridge High School and attended Chattanooga State Technical Community College. She had worked for Dr. Mark Bolton, scheduling for hospitals. Susan had also been director for various day care centers.

She and her husband Gerald had been members of the East Ridge Optimist Club and were Avid fans of the Tennessee Volunteers.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, John Davis and Bettye Sue McDaris Goode and her grandparents, James Glenn and Opal Bird McDaris and Lloyd Greenville and Mary Dowling Goode.

Survivors include her husband Gerald S. Brown; two sons, Adam Brown and Josh (Natasha) Brown; four grandchildren, Isabella Thompson, Noah Brown, Kaylee Brown and Casen Brown; brother Doug (Debbie) Goode; sister-in-law, Gail Brown Overall; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel C. Wright officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association 1919 University Avenue West, Suite 175 St. Paul, MN 55104.
