Teresa was born on July 31, 1933, to the late Alec and Myrtle Terry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Reed “Sammy” Joyce, Sr.; and her brother, Joe Wesley Terry.
Teresa is survived by her son, Sammy (Kelly) Joyce, Jr.; her grandchildren, Reed and Gray Joyce; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Terrace at Mountain Creek for their outstanding care and compassion.
She grew up in Cookeville, Tennessee. Teresa graduated from Cookeville Central High School and Tennessee Tech University. She taught math in Grundy County system. Her most recent employment was a case manager with Hamilton County Health Department in their WIC program.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Oakwood Baptist Church, 4501 Bonny Oaks Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37416.
Memorial donations may be made to Oakwood Baptist Church, Humane Educational Society, or your favorite animal charity.
