

Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Fiercely loyal to his family. He never missed a ball game or even a scrimmage, for his kids and his grandchildren.
He was a graduate of University of Chattanooga where he received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics, he went on to receive his master’s degree in mathematics education from Georgia State and received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
Tom served his country in the United States Army and in the Tennessee National Guard.
Tom taught at UTC, Cleveland State, Lee University and South University. He coached Basketball at Pace Academy, Woodward Academy, St. Pius Catholic High School and SE Whitfield County.
Tom was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the New York Yankees.
He was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Godbold Fox, his parents, Thomas Luther Fox, Sr., and Nita Jean Fox, and a sister, Glenda Sullivan.
Tom's memory will be cherished by his children, Tommy (Tara) and Tony (Lauren); his grandchildren, Anna Grace, Caroline, Ella, Jack, Millie, Ben, Shelby, Eleanor, and Leeam; sisters, Cheryl Fox and Janis Webb, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Sunday October 26, 2025 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Tom’s memory can be made to Chattanooga Christian School, 3354 Charger Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37409.
