Thomas Albert Thrasher, 89, of East Ridge passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church. Tom retired from Western Union Telegraph as Manager of Manufacturing after 30 years of service. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Normandy, France. He was a member of East Ridge Lodge # 755 F&AM and Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle Thrasher and Dennis Thrasher and a sister, Faye Tucker.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Thrasher; two daughters, Charlotte Thrasher Pickett and Nancy Elaine Rountree; three sisters, Thelma Allen, Dean Stowe and Desma Pike; two brothers, Edwin Thrasher and Kenneth Thrasher; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Dean officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
