Vera Lee Hooper

Mrs. Hooper was born in Bridgeport, Alabama to Wallace and Maggie Stagner. She was a graduate of South Pittsburg High School and a local business school. She previously worked at Fowler Brothers and Southern Furniture Sales before going to work at Profit Plans Inc. Mrs. Hooper started at Profit Plans Inc. as the office manager and retired as the president of the company. She was a dedicated member of Ridgeview Baptist Church and a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J. Willard Hooper; her parents; brothers, J. B., Glen, Ira, Jerry and Gordan Stagner; and sisters, Opal Castle, Jewell Carter and Lorene Hooper.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Tom Carter of Chattanooga, grandsons; Chad F.(Candace) Boeninger of Athens, Ohio and Zachary D.(Jennifer) Carter of Franklin, TN., four great-grandsons, Clay, Cole, Carter and Camden Boeninger; sisters-in-law, Barbara Summar and Betty Beavers; brother-in-law, Richard Hooper; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Flaugher officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
