Vera Thompson Prestwood, 91, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, July 25, 2014. She was born April 19, 1923 in Flintstone, Georgia to the late Mattie and Clifford Harris. She was raised in Dalton, Georgia. Mrs. Prestwood was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the East Lake Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husbands Don E. Thompson and U.L. “Gene” Prestwood, sister, Mary Burgess brother-in-law Clayron Burgess, brother Virgil Harris.
Survivors include her son Donald E. Thompson, Jr., grandsons Christian and Alan, granddaughter Laura, great granddaughter, Lydia, brothers Lloyd (Doris) Harris and Leo (Juanita) Harris and several nieces and nephews.
Join us for a celebration of Vera’s life will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the East Chapel of Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Christian Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 Tuesday evening.
Pink roses or pink helium balloons may be sent in her memory.
