THAT WAS MANY MANY YEARS AGO AND I SEE FROM THE COMMENTS HE WAS THE SAME OUTSTANDING PERSON NOW THAT HE WAS THEN, IT WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH HIM.

When we were young boys it was my job as the oldest to look after Vernon and Leonard to protect them.  It was not because of me being older and felt it my duty or because it was what our mother and father wanted.   It was more; it was because I loved them.   Over the years that love is still in my heart.  I am very sorry that I was not there when Vernon needed me more than ever.  I like you, will still see his smiling face and hear the happiness in his voice forever.

My prayers are with you Kathy and your boys. I can only imagine the pain y'all must be going through. Your my friend Kathy and if there is anything I can do to take away even an ounce of that pain please know I'm here for you. May God keep you and your family comforted at this time. I love you!

Kathy,Michael and family, Vernon was such a great man and I am so sorry for you loss. Vernon was always a pleasure to work with  and we will truely miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Kathy, though I didn't know Vernon personally, I know you and the kind person you have always been. Reading other posts only validates the kind, gental person V has been. I'm sure tonight has been difficult and Tomorrow will be even harder. Place your eyes to heaven and call out for God to get you through. I feel such sadness for you, Michael, and Mark. Be patient....God unfolds all with time. It's not goodbye, its until you met again.

Ed Person introduced me to Vernon many years ago while Vernon was employed at Allied and I was employed at Honeywell. I thought then what a brilliant and funny guy he was. Little did I know what a great friend and co-worker he would become. It seems as though I'd known him a lifetime. He was always ready with a joke and I so admired him for the devotion to his family. I know that he has the Lord smiling and on His toes in Heaven. You are all in our prayers and in our hearts. We will miss him greatly. Love, Ron and Judith Bevels

I have known Vernon for many years first met him in 1983. He has always been a positive and loyal friend. Vernon was a friend you could always count on. Please know that you are in my prayers. I pray that you are comforted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and know that this is not the last time you will see each other. The Great Hope of eternal life and knowing we will meet again; is the precious hope we can cling to each day.
