Vicki and I co-taught at CSTCC for almost 18 years. We often laughed about both teaching at Erlanger but not at the same time and winding up teaching together later. We continued to reminisce after retirement about how much we enjoyed our years teaching together.Vicki really enjoyed the students and was so proud of their successes, both at school and also with Board exams.
I will really miss Vicki.

So sad to learn of Vicki's death. We are cousins. Our mothers, Mildred and Tommie, sisters. My heartfelt sympathy to her son.

Vicki was my twin sister Susan's best friend for so many years. She was family. Some of my favorite memories were the three of us in their kitchen with the stereo blasting "Basia", Time and Tide, and playing Rook. We would play cards, sing and laugh and then grill out something for dinner. We had a blast.
Although Susan passed away in 2007, I called Vicki almost every day since. In particular if I had some kind of medical issue going on, and she would start with "now Marie, this is nothing serious all you need to do is so and so". LOL. I still around 8:00 pm each night want to pick up the phone to call her to see what she was planning on watching on TV. We'd often call each other and compare notes during whatever we were watching. Just like Susan, I will miss Vicki so much. Getting old "Ain't for Sissy's". You lose a lot of people you care so much about. But at least we have our memories.

I have known Vickie over many years. We taught together at Erlanger School of Nursing. During this time period, Chuck was a small boy and Vickie loved taking him to the beach and spending time fishing. He was her joy. Vickie was a strong student advocate. She was extremely creative and had a gift for teaching. Fun loving and kind, Vickie will be greatly missed. May your memories sustain you.

I first met Vickie when I was 5 years old. She and my late mother played Linda Dempsey played softball together on Phil's team. I was injured in the face while playing at the ball field. My Dad came running out of the stands when he saw blood all over my face. My mom came running off the field with Vicki right behind her. Long story short a few stitches later I was ok.

It wasn't until 18 years later I would meet her again. I attended and completed the LPN Program at CSCC in 1993. It wasn't until a few months into the program that we figured out who the other was.

Once again life has come full circle and our paths crossed again. . Vicki was an excellent teacher and caregiver, not only to her patients but to her students as well.
If it wasn't for Vicki I would have never of made it through LPN School. ..I struggled with Pharmacology formulas and Vicki stayed after school with me for several weeks and tutored myself and 2 others until we got through pharmacology.. Once again 18 years later Vicki came to my rescue.. I have told the story often in my 27 yrs as a nurse that if it was for Vicki Von-shaaf I can honestly say I wouldn't have made it through the program without her dedication and help.. Thank you Vicki, I never forgot you !!! ❤
