

Vivian Blevins Cash, age 91, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Sunday morning, January 15, 2012. She was, for twenty five years, an active member of Central Baptist Church Woodmore where she taught children in Sunday School. In more recent years, she was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was active in WMU and Keenagers at Brainerd until recent years.
She had a significant spiritual impact on the lives of many; but most importantly, her immediate family for which she was a torchbearer for the gospel truth and living a Christ-like life.
She worked many years as an office nurse for a group of pediatricians and was formerly co-owner of Chattanooga Photoengraving Company.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Blevins and second husband, Elbert Cash; mother, Mayme Price; father, O.W. Atwood; sister, Martha Varnell.
Survivors include daughters, Elaine (Ron) Peterson, Chattanooga and Susan (Murray) Barrow, Birmingham, Alabama. Step-daughters Nancy (Randy) Swift, Chattanooga; Carol (Bill) Cox, Chesapeake, Virginia and step-son, Bill (Kathy) Cash, Birmingham, Alabama. Grandchildren, Eric Peterson, Lainie Whitman, Patrick Lunceford and Denton (Mary) Lunceford; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Mary Whitman and Liam and Sage Lunceford; brother-in-law Kenneth (Sarah) Varnell and eight step-grandchildren, four nephews, two nieces, several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Eric Peterson, Patrick Lunceford, Denton Lunceford, Roddy Varnell, Wendell Varnell and Patrick Whitman. Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Cox, Howard Gentry and Paul George.
The family would like to offer special thanks to staff at Parkwood Retirement Apartments, Parkwood Rehabilitation, Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Chattanooga who cared for her both before and after her injury. Additional thanks go to those wonderful and special friends who assisted both at Parkwood and Memorial after her injury.
Funeral services will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel on Wednesday at 1 PM with Dr. Frank Crumpler officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens East. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Brainerd Baptist Church, Lottie Moon Fund for Missions.
