When I started working at Brock Candy Company in 1969, Horton was so helpful. He immediately took me under his wings. For the next 16 years, we worked on so many things from making Gummi Bears to building a new plant. We could disagree, but there was never any doubt that Horton wanted what was best for the customer and best for Brock Candy Company. He took such pride in his work. He knew everyone in the plant and everyone knew and respected him.  I cannot begin to express to the family how much I love and respect Horton. We share his loss, but he left the best legacy anyone can leave. 

Horton was a real friend and will be missed. He was honest and always willing to help anyone. My deepest sympathy to Jan and Linda on their loss of wonderful father.  

Thinking of you and your families during this time of loss.  I have so many wonderful memories of your parents especially those evenings with the Bridge Club.  Your Dad always was so kind and fun to be with.  He will be missed.  Although a lot of years have flown by since Trinity-Woodmore days I still have wonderful memories of that time.  Your parents were such a big part of those growing up years.  

Horton Corwin was a giant of a man because of the way he lived his life - full of energy, kind-heartedness, intelligence, faith, dedication, fun , and most of all love for his precious family (Mary Lorraine, Linda and Jan).  I was in Chattanooga for one day only in August visiting with Betty Mee Jackson, and she asked me what I wanted to do ; and the answer was visit Horton.  We had a lovely visit.  He still had that wonderful twinkle in his eyes and recognized me right away even though it had been years.  He showed us his apartment and his candy wreath.
I will always remember a lifetime of fun and friendship with the Corwins - and a lot of adventures too (at the lake, their house, on vacations at the beach, at church, at church camp, at picnics and at bridge parties) - pretty much my whole life growing up.  Horton was a very dear and much loved friend to my whole family - as was Mary Lorraine.  The world is not quite as wonderful or sparkly without them.  They added joy, love and kindness wherever they were.

Horton was the sweetest man, I loved him dearly.  I’ll always remember his sweet smile, he was kind to everyone.  RIP candy man.

We have so many good memories of Horton.  A wonderful person and he will be missed.  

Linda and Jan:  I knew you and your Mom and Dad at Trinity-Woodmore UMC.  My maiden name was Huber.  Just wanted to send my condolences in the loss of your father.  Your parents were always so nice.  Great memories of T-W and our youth group!  I wish you comfort at this time.

Horton was an long time friend of my family. He also was my softball coach. His smile was contagious and the love of Christ flowed out to all he met! 

We were blessed to make many good memories with Horton and Mary Lorraine through our Trinity-Woodmore Church "family", the Chattanooga Mocs Basketball trips to North Carolina, and to the Holston United Methodist Conference meetings in Junaluska, N.C.  One didn't have to be around the two of them long before you knew of their love for and commitment to God, each other, their family, and their Church.  Their sense of humor and love for life was contagious; hospitality in their home was unmatched.   Horton had to take care of everyone around him, making sure that every need was met for those friends accompanying him and Mary Lorraine on trips.  We were privileged to have their friendship, to watch their two beautiful daughters grow into wonderful adults.  Horton and Mary Lorraine (can't think of one without the other) were a joy to everyone they touched; we were so blessed to be two of them.  With deepest sympathy and love to the entire family.
