He was a wonderful father, and he enjoyed his family, his friends, traveling, sports, fishing, and visiting with his “army buddies.” Wayne served in the US Army as a young man. He also served as a deacon at the Ridgedale Church of Christ for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy C. Smith, of Chattanooga, his sister, Nancy Blackburn of Whitwell, an uncle, and multiple cousins, brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
