Ralph Coggin

July 9, 2019

My name is Ralph Coggin and I retired from PB&S Chemical, now known as Brenntag on Old Wauhatchie Pike. Believe I was in your shop every 2 weeks to get my hair cut. Not only for the hair cut but for a little bit of fun. You never knew who would be in there and the stories that would be told, mostly true but a few maybe embellished. At any rate, always a good place to get a haircut and a great place to get you spirits lifted.
I am sorry to hear of Windy's passing. He will be sorely missed by many people as he was known as a fine Christian man. He was well respected and a now has a new home with Christ. May God be with all of this family. Thanks be to God for the lives Windy has touched over the years.

My father, Francis Tate, worked part time for Windy in the Lookout Valley Barber Shop for many years. He loved that job and the entire atmosphere and people who came and went. Wendy was a fine man and very kind to my dad.
My condolences to Windy's family for your loss.

Several years ago, I was looking for a good barber shop when a friend of mine recommended The Lookout Barber Shop and Windy Adams. His recommendation went well heeded and a wonderful friendship was started. His daughter took over at a time that he was approaching retirement. She is just about as good as he. He was one of the finest friends I have ever known. He called me smiley and he was also a very true brother not only in Christ, but also a Mason. He worked at the "Big Four Barber Shop" in downtown Chattanooga until he opened the barber shop in Tiftonia. (I had an Uncle - Albert Hartman) that also worked at the "Big Four Barber Shop"We had several connections through the barber shop and I really enjoyed talking to him. May he rest in peace and his family have the peace that passes all understanding.

Windy and I were only months apart in age. He was the clown of his family. After they moved from Alabama to Tennessee I didn't see him again until a few years ago at an Adams reunion in Murfreesboro. He was still a clown. Loved his laugh. He recalled at that time some things that happened when he would visit my three brothers. My sympathy to all the family. I would come tomorrow but I have a doctor's appointment. Wendy was my third cousin. His grandmother, Willie, and my mother were first cousins. I remember her.
