Catherine Barbara VanWhy

Born in Paterson, New Jersey on January 6, 1947, she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Anna ( Acker) Foster. Catherine attended Sparta High School, in Sparta, NJ. She then went on to begin a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A). She received her C.N.A. training at Pleasant Valley Manor, in Stroudsburg. She worked most of her life as a C.N.A. and retired from Hillcrest Retirement home in 2009. Catherine enjoyed reading Sylvia Browne books and cooking.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her two brothers: James and Joseph Foster and two sisters: Ann Marie Kemnitzer and Elizabeth Dalrymple.

Surviving is her loving husband of 22 years: Lawrence Van Why, of Bartonsville; a son Joseph Griswold, of Bartonsville; a daughter Kim Bird and her husband Eric, of Bartonsville; 4 grandchildren: Desiree McGuire and her husband Michael, of Kunkletown, Gary Van Why, of Sunbury, PA; Joseph Joe-Mar Griswold, of Bartonsville; and Kristina Deats, of Reeders ; 5 great grandchildren: Peyton and Liam McGuire, Candace, Marie, and Kevlyn Van Why.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
