

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Lipe, 90 of Stroudsburg, formerly of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday morning October 3, 2013 at Grace Park in Stroudsburg. She was the widow of the late Fred Lipe Jr. who passed away in 1975.
Born on August 14, 1923 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Edward Leo and Josephine (Berson) Ryan and graduated from East Stroudsburg high School. Elizabeth worked at Ronson Corporation in Delaware Water Gap and retired from G.E. Corporation of East Stroudsburg.
She was an active member of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church Brodhead Ave, East Stroudsburg where she was a member of the Alter and Rosy Society.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband was a son Edward M. Lipe who passed away in 1984, a brother, Joseph P. Ryan, and a sister, Hilda M. Ryan.
Surviving are sons Fred T. Lipe of Allentown; J. Fred Lipe of Stroudsburg; and Jeffrey M. Lipe and his wife Denise of Brodheadsville; three grandchildren, Thomas R. Lipe of Marshalls Creek; Steven E. Lipe and Emily A. Lipe both of East Stroudsburg and a sister in-law Jane Savage of Effort.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 5, 2013 at noon in St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church 200 Brodhead Ave, East Stroudsburg with Monsignor John A. Bergamo celebrant. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery Bryant Street, Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday October 5, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, 18301
