Eric Robert Jacobsen

Eric Robert Jacobsen, 55, a teacher of East Stroudsburg Area School District for 13 years passed away suddenly on Thursday January 16, 2015. He was the loving husband of Linda Jacobsen. He loved and took pride in his children Kelsey, Eric, David, Joseph and Michelle. He was the son of Eleanor Gawboy and Kurt Haase and a tribal member of the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe Indians.

He was an enthusiastic member of the Paupack Sailing Club in Hawley Pennsylvania. Eric loved to ride motorcycles, garden, home renovation, and his cat Sylvester. He had a passion for teaching everyone about everything and touched the lives of hundreds of schoolchildren. He was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, children, his brother Edward Jacobsen , tribe and friends among the Freedom from Bondage Too Alcohol Anonymous Group.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday January 18, 2015 at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church, 160 North Courtland St. East Stroudsburg.

In order to help support Eric's love of field trips, his family has requested that a memorial fund be established in Eric's memory to help support those students at Lehman Intermediate School who may not have the financial means to participate in those activities. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Eric Jacobsen Memorial Fund—ESASD, Debra Wisotsky at East Stroudsburg Area School District, 50 Vine St, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301
