Ethel Anna Lockard

Ethel Lockard, 90, of East Stroudsburg, passed away June 25, 2019 at the St Luke’s Monroe Campus Hospital. She was the loving wife of Gerald Lockard who passed away in 1986. Born May 19, 1929 in Stroudsburg she was the daughter of the late James C. and Harriet (Burch) Mosier. Ethel was a graduate of East Stroudsburg’s class of 1947 and continued on to get her Bachelors of Science at East Stroudsburg State in 1951. Ethel worked at her family business Mosier’s Dairy. She also taught Sunday school classes, summer bible school and Jubilee Bible classes. Ethel loved devoting her time to missionary work for the First Baptist Church with her special love being Operation Christmas Child. Ethel loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and bird watching. Survivors: Daughters, Darlene Repsher and husband Jason of Stroudsburg; Loretta Porvaznik and husband Richard of East Stroudsburg; Patricia Westover and husband William Dale of East Stroudsburg; grandchildren; Laura, Matthew, Julia and Kellcey, sister; Martha Coleman and her husband Robert of Florida; great-grandchildren Landon, Julie, Jordyn, Brady and Jesse; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Ethel is preceded in death by her brother Milton A. Mosier. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 01, 2019 at the First Baptist Church 160 N. Courtland St, East Stroudsburg, where the family will receive family and friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the Church. Interment will follow at the Prospect Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Berean Bible Fellowship Church 1028 Tara View Dr. Stroudsburg, for a luncheon and fellowship after the interment. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in honor of Ethel to the First Baptist Church 160 N. Courtland St. East Stroudsburg PA 18301.
