Dawn Howey - Bartholomew

I have known Gene since 1971. Which is the year I was born. When we lived back at Lehman Lake, in Pike County. My parents were the caretakers there. And then we moved to Portland, owned and operated the Delaware House. In which Gene was a regular. He watched me grow up. He was at times, quite contrary, and knew how to yank my chain lol and then he'd get all mushy! He was one of the last good friends, of my Father's. From the Lehman Lake days. Once grown I then would get my pork from him and Sue. I'm sorry I didn't attend any service, as I just found out tonight. (Monday) Sue, you're a wonderful woman, and know in your heart, he will always and forever be with you.
Gene, also was very close to my son, Tyler Howey.

As a young girl growing up in the horse world Gene was a lovely addition to our lives as a hay, feed, and all around knowledge supplier in his later years. I will greatly miss seeing him ride by the farm in his truck or on his gator and watch the animals I raise now as an adult. Gene, you watched me grow and I watch you age into your ripe years.
It's been a pleasure to have known you and Sue who was such a compliment to your life style of farming. Sue, you are one special gal! May your heart find peace in the days to come and may you find strength in the support of your extended agriculture family. The two of you were certainly peas in a pod to say the least.
Warmest regards,
The Barnes Family
