Fred Ortelio

Fred was born on November 3, 1963 in Elizabeth, NJ. He was adopted by Frank and Rosalie Ortelio in his first few days of life. He lived in Roselle Park and Edison, NJ before moving to Bushkill, PA with his parents in 2015.

A graduate of JP Stevens High School in Edison, Fred served in the US Navy from 1983 until 1989. While serving Fred was stationed on the USS Nimitz and completed a Mediterranean tour. He was able to visit many countries during this time, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Fred was a medical corpsman while on the Nimitz, then specialized in radiation health for the remainder of his service. After his service, Fred graduated from Rutgers University. Fred was a computer programmer who enjoyed reading, video games and spending time with family.

Fred was a devoted son who took care of his mother and father over the last several years. He is predeceased by his mother, Rosalie Ortelio; and is survived by his father, Frank Ortelio; sister Karen and her husband David Ernst and their children Daniel, Madelyn and Ryan.

He is also survived by his uncles Vincent Ortelio and his wife Aida; Antonio Ortelio and his wife Maria; Domenico Ortelio; aunts Tina Schiariti and her husband Michele and Cinzia Miceli; his dear cousins Fred Miceli and his wife Mary, Anthony Miceli, Steven Miceli, Donna Agostino and her husband Joseph, Sandra Stark and her husband Robert, Rosemary Lewczak and her husband Patrick, Lidia Lago and her husband Manuel and their families, as well as many cousins in Italy and Argentina. Fred is also predeceased by uncles Frank Miceli and Joseph Miceli; aunts Lillie Miceli and Elisa Ortelio; and cousin Maria Ortelio.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday August 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM with a prayer service officiated by Pastor David Felker to immediately follow at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc 27 Washington St. East Stroudsburg. Burial will take place at the Prospect Cemetery.
