
Born in Minisink Hills on February 19, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy (VanWhy) Strunk.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She worked at the First Stroudsburg National Bank for over 30 years. Helen enjoyed frequent lunches at the Wyckoff Tea Room in Stroudsburg. She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she served as a former treasurer for many years. Helen looked forward to her weekly gathering with her girlfriend Doris, creating ceramics and sharing lunch . She was a humble, caring woman who will be sincerely missed.
Helen had been the last surviving child of the late Samuel and Nancy Strunk. She had been preceded in death by siblings: Clara, Maggie, Edith, Clarence("Buck"), Harvey, Jay, George, and Richard.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing held from 10 - 11 am, Monday August 15, 2016 at St Mark’s Lutheran Church, River Road, Minisink Hills, PA 18341. The Funeral Service will start at 11 am with Pastor Glen Segond officiating. Interment will follow at the Sand Hill Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Exterior Painting fund, 117 Broad Street, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania 18360.
