Born in Greyston Park, NJ on September 11, 1928, he was a son of the late Larue and Mary (Mabel) Bailey. Harold graduated from Newton High School in 1948 and served his county in the United States Army, where he was a railroad engineer in the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge he obtained a railroad engineer position for the US Army at Picatinny Arsenal. He received many commendations for his work in design and drafting as an engineer technician. His work helped to develop technology that would keep our troops safer in the late 1980's. He was employed for 28 years before his retirement at age 59.
Harold loved to collect teddy bears and coins. He also enjoyed volunteering to serve the seniors at lunch in his local community in FL., enjoyed traveling, watching the stock market, and loved his dog. He was one of the kindest most generous souls one would meet.
Surviving is a great niece Inga J. Bailey, of Lunenburg, MA, and many other great nieces and great nephews who will miss him greatly everyday.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301, where online condolences can be made at www.lantermanallenfh.com
