

James “Jim” Bumbery, 72, of Kresgeville, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at The Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Zajac) Bumbery with whom he shared 33 years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on December 10.
Born on October 3, 1943 in Tulsa, OK to the late John William and Jeane Claire (Bair) Bumbery.
Jim was an incredibly kind and caring man who will forever be remembered for his strength of character and giving spirit.
Jim was a veteran of The U.S. Navy where he served as a radio man on the U.S.S. Mole for four years. He graduated Croton on Hudson High School in New York before attending restaurant management classes. He went on to own his own restaurant/bar in New York. He then worked in sales for many years eventually retiring in 2010. After retirement, Jim began working part time for Pocono Medical Center as a courier. He loved his job, he was able to socialize, drive around, and meet new people every day.
Jim was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic church in Brodheadsville. He enjoyed cooking, sailing on the open water, and his family. Jim was a family man, nothing was more important to him or meant more to him than his wife & his girls, he would have done anything for them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Jim is greatly loved and his charm, wit and smile will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife Diane, Jim is survived by his daughters: Annie Gravell and Heather D’Adamo, both of Kresgeville; and Tara Stoico and her husband Ross, of Kunkletown; his grandchildren: Marisa and Erica Gravell, of Kresgeville; His brother: John Bumbery, of Kresgeville; his brother-in-laws: Ted Zajac and his wife Joyce, of Coopersburg; and Gary Zajac, of East Stroudsburg.
There will be a public viewing held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 2pm-8pm at The Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Saint Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, March, 10, 2016 at 10am. A Private cremation will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children Research Hospital via Stjude.org.
