Jane Jean McKendry

Jean was born in Glasgow, Scotland on August 29, 1931 a daughter to the late John and Anne (Whiteside) Toner. She completed her high school education in Scotland and relocated to the States in 1958. Jean was a house wife and home maker to her husband and children.

She was of the Roman Catholic faith, enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband John McKendry who passed away in 1995 and her son Brian McKendry who passed away in 1996.

Surviving is her daughter Maureen Vagelakos and her husband George, of East Stroudsburg; brother, Hugh Toner and his wife Ann of Malaga, Spain; grandchildren, Nicholas G. Vagelakos and his fiancée Becky Sonnenburg of Denver Colo; Melissa Vagelakos of East Stroudsburg; Lauren McKendry-Knight and her husband Dave of Arkansaw; Lisa Marie McKendry-Culotta and her husband James, of Florida; and 5 Great Grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday December 31, 2013 at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 5171 Milford Road., East Stroudsburg, PA, Fr. Jeffrey J. Walsh, celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday December 31, 2013 at the Church from 8:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
