
John H. Weiss, 60, of Cresco passed away early Monday morning September 3, 2012 at the Mountain Top Senior Care and Rehab center in Mountain Top, PA. John was the husband of Dana Clare (Dimmick) Weiss, at home in Cresco.
He was born on November 23, 1951 at home in Stroudsburg, a son to the late Ernest W. and Theresa (Miller) Weiss Sr. John lived in Stroudsburg, PA; for the beginning of his life and then moved to Cresco, PA; where he lived until October 26, 1982 when he relocated to Ocala, FL; He lived in Ocala, until March 5, 1985 when he moved back to PA; living in Buck Hill Falls until December 6, 1987 when he relocated back to Ocala, FL; where he remained until December 6, 1998 at which time he moved permanently to PA; to Cresco where he remained until his death.
John graduated from St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic School in East Stroudsburg in June of 1966. He then attended Stroudsburg High School in Stroudsburg, PA; until November 1967. He attended Central Florida Community College form 1984 until 1985 and Marion County Community Education Center from 1994 to 1995, both in Ocala, FL;
He was employed by Keiper’s Laundry & LeAnna Woodcraft both in Stroudsburg, PA; Tru-Matic Tool and Dye Inc. & Pocono Metal Products Inc., both in East Stroudsburg, PA; The Inn at Buck Hill in Buck Hill Falls, PA; Mid-Florida Sod and Landscaping Company Inc., Mark III Industries, Deluca Toyota, International Auto Body and Ocala Inc., all of Ocala Florida. He also worked at Resorts of America at Fernwood in Bushkill, PA; and Cleanteam at Yellow Roadway Express in Tannersville, PA; from where he retired in July of 2001.
John was a member of St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a sister, Loretta Rascona, and a brother Ernie Weiss Jr.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Robert J. Weiss of Cresco; Jason S. Weiss of Manchester, NJ; and Jonathan H. Dimmick of Tobyhanna; daughter, Kathy Davis of East Stroudsburg; grandsons, Daymian Weiss and Cory Joseph Dimmick, sisters, Alberta Hedgelon and Carol Burhan, of Tannersville; brother Brian and his wife Katharine Weiss of Greentown; many nieces and nephews also survive.
A Prayer service held on Friday September 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc., 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg with Fr. Edward Lyman officiating. Interment will private and at the convenience of the family.
A public visitation will be held on Friday September 7, 2012 at the Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, Inc., from noon until the time of service.
