Kathryn "Kathi" Tasetano

Kathryn "Kathi" Tasetano, 63, of Hamilton Twp., PA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014, at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was born in Passaic, NJ, on June 16, 1950, a daughter of the late John L. and Patricia M. (Wilson) Torley.

Kathi graduated from Clifton High School, Clifton, NJ, in 1968, and continued her education at the Mayer School of Fashion Design, New York City, NY, graduating in 1970. During the 1980’s, she returned to college where she earned her Paralegal Degree in 1985. In 1996, she founded the World Karate Union Hall of Fame, of Stroudsburg, where she was the Director and Vice President of Operations for the past 19 years.

She was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA. Kathi was extremely active in local martial arts programs and was instrumental in that industry, worldwide. Her hobbies were sewing, art, reading, gardening and embroidering. Kathi's greatest joy was spending time with her children as the proud mother of three members of the United States Marine Corps.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her brother, Laurence Torley.

Surviving are her loving husband of 37 years, Frank Tasetano of Stroudsburg; sons Trevor and Mackenzie Tasetano and daughter Caitlin Harvath, all of Stroudsburg; brothers Ian (Marypat), Gene (Lorraine), Bruce (Pamela) and David (Marilyn) Torley; sisters Mary Ellen (William) Perrone and Laurie (Thomas) Loftus; sisters-in-law Mary Lou Mangini, Dorothy (Mark) Abrams and Dorothy Torley; and many nieces and nephews. She was also a loving great aunt and godmother.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 10:00 AM in St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 818 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA, with Rev. Fr. Thomas McLaughlin as Celebrant. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and on Friday, March 7, 2014 from

2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street,

East Stroudsburg, PA.
