Kenneth C. Whitmore, 80, of East Stroudsburg, PA passed away peacefully at the Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospital, on Sunday, Oct. 30th. He was the loving husband of Diane Whitmore, with whom he shared 46 years, and loving father of Kerry Whitmore. Born in Long Branch, NJ, he was the son of the late Ruth Lemmon Whitmore and the late Kenneth Charles Whitmore.
Ken obtained a master's degree in physics from Penn State University in State College, PA. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the armed forces, in the communications division, and served in Korea during the taking of the Pueblo. Ken was the owner of KC Electrical Service, which he operated for more than 50 years. He was considered a master electrician, and although he loved his work he often remarked that the best aspect of his business was the personal interactions he had with people. He was a hero to many, especially during cold winter nights when he ventured out to repair broken heaters so that people would be warm.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., and memorial service from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., on Friday, November 11th, at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, East Stroudsburg, PA. Pastor Kofi Ashley, of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lantermanallenfh.com for the Whitmore family.
