Marie Herman, 92, born May 12, 1926 and raised in Ross township of Saylorsburg, PA, passed away on May 27 at the Brookmont Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of late Ronald B. Herman, who passed away in 2000. Marie and Ronald were married on October 21, 1951, married for 49 years at the time of his passing.
She was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Koehler) Kostenbader. She is survived by one son, David Bonser, his wife Susan, and her puppy Poochie of Saylorsburg, PA. Marie was preceded in death by four sisters Helen, Mildred, Nellie, and Sadie, as well as four brothers Ralph, William, John, and Paul. She is also survived by her good neighbor Kelly and her dog Monique.
Marie worked as a waitress for more than 40 years at Ross Common Manor and Linden Court in Sciota. She also worked for over 40 years in blouse mills for Nova Sportswear and Blue Valley Sportswear. She was active in her community, being the last original football mother for Pleasant Valley High School, and an avid lover of wildlife. Marie and Ronald loved to go cruising, traveling with the American Lung Association. They had been to Bermuda 10 times; the last five "were the best".
Monetary contributions may be made to AWSOM of Monroe County or American Audubon Society in memory of Marie Herman.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
