
She was born in East Stroudsburg on June 29, 1928, a daughter of the late James R. and Mary E. (Armitage) Detrick. Mildred attended East Stroudsburg High School and was employed at Vaser Bag Company, Stroudsburg until she married and started her family. Mildred was a loving wife and mother, who took great pride in caring for her family.
Mildred was a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church, East Stroudsburg. She enjoyed music and attending local concerts.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband of 42 years Chester W. (Hap) Sargent, who passed away on November 5, 1988, sisters Dorothy Jane Detrick and Anna Blanche Detrick, they both passed during their childhood.
Surviving is her son James N. Sargent of Kunkletown; and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with Rev. Paul Miller Pastor of St. John’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Stroudsburg, officiating. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Bryant Street, Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will be held on Friday June 20, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
