Myrtle L. Sargent (Nee Howey) 92 formerly of Wind Gap PA. passed away peacefully on Friday morning April 26,2019 at Slate Belt Health and Rehabiliton Center in Bangor ,Pa while under St.Luke's hospice care.
She was the wife of Willis (Lefty) Sargent Sr. with whom she shared 60 years of marriage at the time of his death on October 24,2006.
Born on August 10,1926,she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fannie (Whittaker)Howey.
She was employed in her earlier years at JJ Newberry Stroudsburg, Pa .Pocketbook Factory in Stroudsburg, Pa , Smiley Candy Co. in Easton Pa. After many years of working she became a full time Homemaker .
She enjoyed going to bingo and local fairs to listen to country music. Going camping with her grandchildren ,doing crocheting and other crafts and hobbies she was very good at it.
She is survived by her daughters Madelyn Hill and husband Danny of Pen Argyl, Pa., Betty Hill and her husband Wilson of Saylorsburg ,Pa , Son Willis F.Sargent Jr. and his wife Kathy of Palmer Township Pa and daughter in law Veronica Sargent OF Stroudsburg Pa.
Grandchildren Tammy Sargent of Canadensis ,Pa, April Cornell and husband Kenneth of Saylorsburg ,Pa,
Christina Sargent of Baltimore , Md, Beth Lutz And husband Brandon of Easton, Pa , Thomas Hill of Saylorsburg ,Pa , and Steven Sargent of Palmer Township ,Pa Great Grandchildren Brittany White, Tyler Hill, Zachery White. Great Great Grandchildren Gavin and Alice .She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Edward F. Sargent ,A sister Addie Howey and brothers Harvey ,John and Richard Howey.
Funeral Services led by Pastor Scott Fobare on Tuesday April 30th at 11am at the Lanterman and Allen funeral home 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg Pa 18301 Family and friends are invited to attend a calling period one hour prior 10 -11 . Burial is Private .Memorial Contribution can be made to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association or a Charity of choice
