Born in New York City, NY on October 20, 1951 he was a son to the late Thomas Joseph Lovett and Mary Herlihy Lovett. Thomas served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1970-1971. Thomas was a decorated war veteran earning a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar, and two overseas Service Bars. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Thomas had a 21 year career serving as a uniformed member of the New York City Department of Sanitation. He retired in August, 2006.
As a Disabled American Veteran and an executive board member of DAV Chapter 23 in Bronx, NY, Thomas volunteered his time to help all war era veterans with service connected claims and benefits in his role as chapter service officer. Thomas was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving Thomas is his wife, Patricia Ann Gerard of Bushkill, PA; daughter, Kristen Kathleen Lovett of Dunmore, PA; brother Gerald Lovett and wife Randi Lovett of Rockaway, NJ; and brother Charles Lovett of Daytona, FL; nieces and nephews, Brendan Lovett and wife Betty Lovett, Megan Lovett,
Conor Lovett, Michael Gerard, Taylor Gerard, Eileen Gerard, Samantha Gerard, and Kimberly Gerard.
