Valerie Lopez,73, wonderful wife and mom of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday October 9, 2011 at her residence in East Stroudsburg.

Valerie was born on February 13, 1938, in New York City, a daughter to the late John and Louise (Sedor) Baron.

Valerie graduated from Hunter college high school in New York, NY. She worked in the banking industry for twenty years and retired from Anchor bank in 1981. Valerie was married for 53 years to her beloved husband Edward Lopez.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Stroudsburg. Some of her hobbies were traveling, gardening, cooking, and collecting pig memorabilia.

Surviving is her beloved husband: Edward Lopez, of East Stroudsburg; a son: Michael Lopez and his wife Kristi of Long Island, NY; a brother: Michael Baron of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; two grandchildren: Christopher and Kayla of Long Island, NY; and a beloved dog: Bulldozer.

Family and Friends will gather on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc., 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg, PA. A Panakhida service will be held at 6:30 P.M. The Office of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, in Clifton, NJ.
