William H. Shearer

William H. Shearer, 51, of Stroudsburg, passed away at home on Thursday, January 14, 2015 with his loving wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ginger (Gillis) Shearer with whom he shared 5 years of marriage.

Born in Weymonth, MA on April 4, 1964, He was the son of Mr. Howard Shearer and the late Carol (Rintamaki) Shearer.

Bill was a graduate of Manhiem Township High School and continued on to receive a degree at Lock Haven University. He worked as a sports writer for Sports Network in Warminister, PA, Mt. Airy Golf Course and the P.R. Newswire in Jersey City, NJ. Bill was an amazing husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed golfing, writing, baseball, and had a passion for sports all together.

In addition to his wife Ginger, Bill is survived by his father Howard and his companion, Marilyn Doherty of Cannonsburg, PA; sisters: Tracy and her husband Dennis Riehl, of Smoketown, PA , and Kelley and her husband Donnie Sheiss, of Larwill, Indiana; his daughter: Brittany Shearer of Lancaster, PA; His step son: Sean Boyle of Stroudsburg, PA; also niece Lexi and nephews Devon and Dillon.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Carol.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church on Saturday, January 23, at 12pm at 915 North 5th St. Stroudsburg PA, 18360 to celebrate the life of William Shearer. There will be a fellowship luncheon held at The Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church directly after the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Churches Benevolence Fund.
