Barbara Jean Moore Oberle , 78, passed away April 20, 2011. Barbara was born October 22, 1932 in Tahlequah, OK, to Virgil H. and Louise Garner. The fourth of eight children, Barbara grew up in Tahlequah where she attended high school. In 1951, after dating three weeks, she married George Milton Moore. For the next 37 years they raised three sons and lived in various towns throughout Oklahoma for George’s Highway Patrolman job, finally residing in Edmond. As a mother, Barbara provided her children an exceptional childhood, always standing behind the boys in all they did, right or wrong. One of Barbara’s most cherished roles was Grandmother; she adored each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren loving them unconditionally. She loved being surrounded by family, friends and her animals; a wonderful cook, she loved to entertain and always welcomed people to her home for a hot pot of coffee and a haircut. She enjoyed travelling, flowers and loved Christmas and her vast collection of Santa Clauses. After being widowed for twelve years, Barbara reunited with Gene Oberle ten years ago this month. They fell in love and married on October 12, 2002. Residing in Edmond, OK, they loved being together, enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with friends and family. Gene cared for Barbara in the most selfless manner; they loved each other dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and George Milton Moore. Barbara is survived by husband Gene Oberle; sons George and LuAnn Moore of Jones, Mark and Shelli Moore of Arcadia, Bob Moore and Paula Moore of Edmond; step-sons Richard Oberle and Eugene Oberle, both of New York City; grandson Matt Moore and wife Katie, granddaughters Brooke McMiller and husband Chris, Ashley Scott and husband Tyler, Natalie Miller and husband Tim, Randi Moore and fiancé Bryan Dunning, and Monica Moore; great-grandchildren Carter, Campbell, Chesney, Mason, Jaeli and Janae; and siblings Mary Whittle, Linda Leehan, Richard Garner and Sharon Gibson; and dear friends Kathy and John Williams. She was a loving wife and mother, she will be deeply missed by all, but we take comfort that she is now free from pain and reaping the rewards of Heaven. The family would like to thank her doctors and caregivers for the love and support they have given her over the past few years. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9am-8pm Friday, April 22 at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway in Edmond.
