Barbara C. Riddle

Barbara joined her husband of 34 years, Alva Eugene Riddle, in heaven on October 20, 2022. Daughter of Walter Sealy and Naomi Mae Cox, Barbara was born June 6, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She retired from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries in 2001 after 34 years of dedicated service.

Barbara was a member of the Okie A’s Club and past member of the Sooner Ford Club. She served in various leadership roles in the Okie A’s and continued participating in the club even after the death of her husband. She was a member of the “Red Skirts” Pep Club of Central High where she graduated in 1955. She enjoyed hosting events for the Central High Class of 55 until her health deteriorated over the past several years. She loved her family and friends, enjoyed the holiday theme parties and treasured living on the lake where she enjoyed watching the wildlife.

Survived by her children Walter Freshour of Lake Elsinore, California, Carol Cain and husband Monte of Oklahoma City, Cynthia Shackelford of Edmond and Charles Freshour of Edmond, 9 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of US or Dementia Caregivers Support Group.

Come-and-go visitation for Barbara will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Baggerley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at 3:30 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.
