James Edgar Lee (Jim)
Jim was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma August 29, 1923 and passed June 29, 2013. His parents, Ethel and James Lee, along with his brother, Robert Dale, and sister, Bonnie Jean, moved to Holdenville, Oklahoma in 1924, where Jim spent his youth, graduating from Holdenville High School. He joined the 45th Division of the Oklahoma National Guard and served with the 422nd Infantry Division during World War II in the European Theater, where military operations took him to England, France and Germany. Jim married Betty Goodman, an English citizen, in London in July 1945 prior to his discharge in October. They were happily married for 52 years and had two children, Janice and Scot. Betty preceded him in death in May 1999.
After the war, Jim and Betty returned to Oklahoma where he took a job in the sales department of Black, Sivalls & Bryson. His tenure lasted 26 years, during which time the family moved to areas of West Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois. He was later promoted to Regional Manager. In 1977, Jim resigned to form his own oil and gas equipment company, Allstates Production Equipment, located in Oklahoma City until he resigned in 1988. The company is currently owned and operated by his son, Scot.
Jim was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Masonic Lodge #182 in Elk City.
Since 2007, Jim had taken great comfort and joy in his companionship with Betty Robins, who he affectionately called “Little Flower,” and her family. He was an active member of Crossings Community Church, and enjoyed volunteering and participating in various church-sponsored activities. Jim also enjoyed reading, fishing and took great delight in loafing and swapping stories with the large circle of friends he had cultivated over the years.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Janice Feizy and her husband, John Feizy of Dallas, Texas, son Jeffrey Scot Lee and his wife, Renise Goade Lee of Edmond, Oklahoma, and his brother, Robert Dale Lee and his wife Patty of Houston, Texas.
