Bill Walling, Jr., 62, long-time Edmond resident, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born March 29, 1948, in Temple, Texas to Bill and Sula Ray (Sue) Walling. He was always very active in scouting and in 1965, following in his father’s footsteps, he became an Eagle Scout. After graduating from Temple High School, he attended Baylor University in Waco, TX. Following college, Bill went to work as a sales representative for Ralph Wilson Plastics in Temple, later named Wilsonart International. Bill was awarded Sales Representative of the year in 1997. After 29 years with the company, Bill retired in 2001. Bill married Judy Allen on November 28, 1986, in Iowa City, Iowa. They met while they were both working in Houston, TX. Since Bill had been transferred to Edmond, OK following their wedding, they put down roots in the Edmond community. Judy has been a very active realtor in Edmond for the past 23 years, and Bill has been her right hand man, especially in recent years when he handled all of the internet marketing. Bill loved senior citizens, and he enjoyed volunteering at the “Time out for Seniors” program at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he and Judy have been long-time members. He always had a smile on his face and a hug for everyone there. He especially loved dressing up for Halloween and all of the special holidays. Bill also spent a short time as a driver at the Wellington Assisted Living on North Pennsylvania in Oklahoma City. There he also loved dressing up for the holidays and entertaining the residents. Next to spending time with the love of his life, Judy, Bill’s passion was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle enjoying all the beauty God has created. He also loved the time he spent at Grand Lake with Judy and his “baby girl” Felicia, the family dog. In March of this year, Bill was honored by having the Meditation Room at the new Integris Cancer Center at Memorial Road and MacArthur in Oklahoma City, named after him. Bill was the second patient ever treated there and was loved by the staff and patients alike. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Sula Ray (Sue). He is survived by wife, Judy, father, Bill Walling, Sr. of Temple, TX, his mother-in-law, June Allen of Edmond, OK and Becky Phillips, his sister, of San Marcos, TX.
