With deep love, we announce the passing of Bruce Edward Silvey, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on October 7, 2026. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 26, 1952, to Glenn and Maxine Silvey, Bruce built a life deeply rooted in family, honesty, and hard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Maxine; his eldest brother, Tedd; and his son, Josh. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; his son, Tyson Owens; his daughters, Sydney Owens and Kayla Galvez; and his five cherished grandchildren, Ella Owens, Paige Owens, Jase Owens, Finn Silvey, and Robin Silvey.
Bruce taught his family the profound value of patience and the importance of showing up when it mattered most. He expressed his love through home-cooked breakfasts, thoughtful advice, and long, caring phone calls just to check in.
Bruce will forever be remembered for his steady heart and the safety his family always felt in his presence. His memory lives on through the structural lessons he taught and the love he gave so freely. Through the work of his hands and the warmth of his spirit, he looked at the earth and saw the hand of the Creator—a blessing he shared generously with everyone around him. May he rest in God’s eternal peace, wrapped in the familiar beauty of the fields he tended so well.
Matthew 25:21 “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The family will have a Celebration of Life for Bruce Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Oak Valley Baptist Church, 28969 E 760 Road Crescent, OK 73028.
