Carol Tighe Bryant of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away June 23rd, 2019 at the age of 62.

She was born in Andrews, Texas on June 12th, 1957. Carol graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1975. She attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and following OSU she graduated from The University of Tulsa with a bachelor’s of science degree in Petroleum Engineering. Following graduation she married John Haley Bryant on May 24th, 1980. Carol and John raised three amazing children: Claire, Haley and John. Carol worked as a petroleum engineer for multiple oil and gas companies over the years. Not only was Carol brilliant in her work, she also loved to mentor, and was known for being the most hardworking and devoted team member. She was also very devoted to her faith and her church, First Presbyterian of Edmond. She loved attending bible study groups with her friends and exploring the word of the Lord.

Carol had many passions including serving the Lord, her work, walking, reading, beach and mountain trips, running errands and gardening. Carol’s biggest passion was loving, supporting and being with her family. She had a special way of making each holiday perfect. The best description for Carol is "selfless love." Her days began and ended with the thoughts of other people’s needs before her own.

Carol is survived by her mother Ann Tighe, sister - Cindy Munn, brother - Mark Tighe, her husband - John Bryant, daugher’s Claire Heidebrecht and Haley Scherm, and her son - John Bryant. She has four grandchildren, Ava Heidebrecht, Liv Heidebrecht, Thomas Scherm and Jacob Scherm… these four refer to her fondly as their Gram. She was preceded in death by her father, William C. Tighe (Bill).

A memorial service celebrating Carol's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S Rankin St, Edmond, OK 73034 on June 28th 2019 at 10am, officiated by Rev. Matt Jones.

Carol was one of my Kappa sorority sisters at OSU. And we were both from Tulsa. She was such a kind, sweet, beautiful, fun person. We all had a wonderful time together in the Kappa House. Wish I had kept in better touch through the years. So sad to hear of her passing. And will keep her wonderful family in my prayers

Carol and I have been neighbors for over 20 years- our friendship really blossomed after she placed a huge pink bow on our mailbox to welcome me home after the birth of my youngest daughter. We discovered our connected past: our Mom's played golf together, I grew up living across the street from her Aunt/Uncle/Cousins, and I played in the Tulsa Memorial marching band as she was crowned Homecoming Queen! There are so many words to describe Carol: quiet, dignified, loving, compassionate, smart, kind, caring, sincere- a beautiful woman with a big smile and dimpled cheeks who only spoke kind words! Carol 's life was full of her love for her family and wonderful time spent with them. I miss you, my Friend- thank you for the the gift of your friendship.

I met Carol at their annual Chili Cook Off on Super Bowl Saturday 2019. Her home was roaring with family and friends chattering and chasing children. She warmly greeted my son and I, helping me find a place to add our chili to the competition and settling us comfortably in her home. There must have been over 60 people bustling around yet every time we were near, she made a point of getting to know us better and offering toys, drinks and smiles. She was touching even in a short moment of time.

Carol and I were Kappas together at Oklahoma State University. She was , in fact , my “Little ” sister...how lucky I was to be her “Big” sister.
Carol had a smile that lit up a room...and that dimple...oh my goodness, that dimple....it was the dearest 🤗
Carol was one of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever known. She was always so much fun to be around.
Sending love and hugs to her dear family and all of those precious grandchildren .
Rest In Peace, sweet Carol ❤️

Carol was one of the first friends in the beginning days of my life in Edmond. We moved there in 1982 and had a group of friends with just our first born. I always thought she was so amazing. She could do anything and get it done well. She had an amazing Halloween Party for our preschoolers. The details were so fun. Carved oranges to look like jack-o-lanterns and the snacks were amazing. She was doing Pinterest before it was invented. The cross-stitch store was a blast and I even tried to smock. Our friend Debi Morrow took of running with it. I made one dress. We played a lot of Bunco together. As more children were born and moves taking place we didn't keep in touch. But, the love and memories are in my heart, just as if they were yesterday.
Rest in Peace sweet friend. You are such an amazing woman and have touched many lives. From, engineer, Mom, business owner and anything you decided to do. You lived an amazing life....

I worked for Carol (aka #girlboss) for only a short stint in 2017; she really helped brighten up everyone’s day every day. Anytime so she could talk about her family would always make her shine, and she was always kind to ask about mine. She will be dearly missed.

I am so sad to hear Carol has passed away. I was a Kappa at OSU with Carol. Even though I hadn't seen her in quite a long time, what immediately popped into my head was Carol's sweet smile and rosy cheeks. She always had such a sweet countenance and she was loved by everyone. I will be praying for your family.
