

In memory of Carolyn Faye Mathis who passed away on June 10, 2024. She was born on January 10, 1947, in Edmond, Oklahoma, to loving parents Orville and Louise Henderson. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of everyone she met with her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith in the Lord.
Carolyn's love for gospel music was evident in her soulful spirit, and her favorite color, red, mirrored the warmth she brought to those around her. A perfect day for Carolyn would involve cherished moments with her family, accompanied by a delicious meal prepared lovingly by her daughter Tammy, whom she adored.
Her laughter was infectious, sparked by Snapchat filters, the candid remarks of her grandchildren, and the antics of her beloved animals. Carolyn had a green thumb and found joy in her gardens, as well as in creating delectable meals from the simplest of ingredients.
She was a pillar of strength for her family, teaching them the true meaning of love and kindness. Carolyn volunteered tirelessly at the EARC for many years alongside her family, embodying her commitment to service. After retiring, she dedicated herself to being an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and found pleasure in life’s simple joys of plants, pretty dishes, crocs, salsa, and vanilla ice cream.
Her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her including her children Tammy Mathis, Johnny Mathis, Jr. and Angela Mathis, her sisters Janet Inskeep and her husband Charlie, and Linda Kellner and her husband Max, along with her 13 grandchildren and 3 nieces and 3 nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Mathis, her parents, her daughter Deanna Warner, and her fur babies Puggy, Lily, Izzy, Sally Jean, Sara, and Grace.
Carolyn will be remembered for her strength, her faith, and her ability to bring joy to others. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished by her family and friends and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A come-and-go visitation for Carolyn will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A graveside service will occur Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 4024 E Waterloo Rd, Edmond, OK 73034.
