Carroll Ann Anderson, age 87, of Arcadia, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025 after suffering a fall. Carroll A. Anderson was born March 6, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Clifford C. Crawford and Okla Ouida (Pate) Crawford. Carroll is survived by her husband Manly R. (Brig) Anderson of 65 years. In addition to Brig, she will be missed by her two daughters Pamela Hill (Britt) and Natalie Schuldt (Randy), four grandchildren; Brandon (Chara) and C. Kyle Renshaw (Amanda), Alex Hill (Paige), and Stephanie Hill Francois (Landon), and six great grandchildren Elia Renshaw, Chloe Renshaw, Olivia Renshaw, Bruce Renshaw, Y. Evie Renshaw, and Ellie Hill, brother-in-law Brad Anderson (Charlotte), and six nieces and nephews; Gerri Petty (Anderson), Holly Doyle (Anderson), Cherrie Wallace (Golden), Geri Dillard (Golden), Michael Anderson, and Shannon Anderson.
Carroll was a trail-blazer who loved life and lived it to the fullest. She received a bachelor’s degree while raising her two daughters in dietetics at Oklahoma State University and a Master’s Degree in Dietetics from the University of Oklahoma in 1970. The excellence she established in her academic pursuits continued in her career as a Registered Dietician at Mercy Hospital, Edmond Hospital and at Bone and Joint Hospital. She also worked as a Registered Dietician Consultant for several nursing homes and veteran’s hospitals throughout Oklahoma. Although she had many professional highlights over her long career, for her family, staff and co-workers the highlights were her high standards and her love for the power of meals with good food for health and well-being. She loved working with her staff and she worked tirelessly to help her staff discover and develop their talents, and often fought for members of her staff to be promoted and receive raises. She developed a reputation at each establishment she served for maintaining the highest standards for health through good food for all - patients and medical staff. Her hospitals and nursing homes were places where patients as well as the staff actually enjoyed eating the meals she provided.
Carroll’s love of good food and care of the people in her life carried over to her family and friends. Her home, “the farm”, was a hub where all were welcomed with a good meal, fun or support - whatever was needed. She also had a reputation as the first to provide financial support for family members and friends in need. She and her husband often traveled throughout the country as well as internationally to explore new restaurants and the various vacation sites. In addition to great food and travel, she enjoyed many other hobbies. These included attending the local university plays, swimming in her pool, skiing, golf, bridge, bowling, square dancing and round dancing as well as reading. She was also known for her support of her husband’s gardening through canning her famous taco sauce and handing out wheel-barrels full of vegetables to anybody who would take them. She also enjoyed daily exercise and was often seen swimming laps in her pool or walking the four square miles surrounding the farm. She suffered from Alzheimer's in her later years, but still enjoyed sharing a good meal with family and friends. She welcomed everybody with a big smile, a hug and a hello until her final days.
She is predeceased by her parents Clifford and Ouida Crawford, sister and brother-in-law Cherrie Delores and Gary Chambers her brother and sister-in-law D. Andy and Janice Anderson. Flowers can be sent through Baggerley Funeral Home. Or in lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Daily Living Center in Edmond, OK where she was cared for in her final months. A reception will follow at the home of Pamela and Britt Hill. All are welcome to share in remembering Carroll and celebrating a life lived well.
