Carter Sloan Spurgeon

Carter Sloan Spurgeon was born March 9, 1954 in Oklahoma City and passed away peacefully January 27, 2021 in his home in Guthrie with his daughter Dana by his side.

Carter grew up in Edmond and attended Edmond schools. As he grew into a young man he had many good friends like Mark Casto, Peggy (Johnson) Ketch, and brother Robert Johnson.

Over the years Carter worked as a Plumber’s Apprentice, in the oil fields as a Roustabout with a good friend, and finally 18 years as a Diesel Tractor Mechanic, retiring in 2020 after 14 years with P&K Equipment.

He lived a full life with family and many friends, but most important to Carter was living life on his own terms.

Carter leaves behind brothers; Chris Spurgeon, Joe Spurgeon, Richard Charles Spurgeon, and R. Allen Spurgeon; sister, Florence Van Horn; daughter, Dana Martin; three grandchildren; and more good and caring friends than he realized.
