He grew up in Edmond, Pond Creek, and Enid, Oklahoma. In 2012, he graduated from Edmond Memorial High School, where he had been on the cross country team. Casey attended some college, attended technical training and held several jobs. Most recently, he worked in manufacturing at Discovery Plastics in Miami, Oklahoma.
Growing up, Casey excelled at almost everything he tried. He was an excellent pianist and started making electronic music on his computer at an early age. Casey earned a brown belt in karate, having won several state and regional championships. He loved to play strategy games, card games, and video games. He rode dirt bikes, loved to snow ski, and was an avid car buff. He accepted Christ as his Savior at age 16 at Life Church in Edmond. In high school, he scored a perfect 36 on the Science portion of the ACT. Casey loved animals, especially his dog, Che, and his cat Maow-Maow. He had a green thumb and was able to grow giant sunflowers.
He struggled all his life with Asperger’s Syndrome, and bravely fought back many times from devastating bouts with depression. He was a fighter and when he was doing well, he was fearless and unstoppable, ready to try anything. He had an incredibly kind heart.
Casey passed away on May 8, 2021. He is survived by his parents, Michael Hampton and Stefanie (Nance) Gray. In addition, he is survived by his sister Jenna Hampton; step-dad Ed Gray; stepbrothers Jackson Gray and EJ Gray; and stepmother Geneva Hampton. Also, his grandmothers Jean Hampton and Linda Nance; grandfather Odie Nance; aunts Susan Hampton, Dawn King, Pam Nance and Danetta Nance; uncles Chris Nance and Ron King; as well as many loving cousins.
