Charles Mark Burton, 74, passed away on June 28, 2025, in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Born on June 26, 1951, Charles, known affectionately as Mark, spent his formative years attending Putnam City and Edmond High Schools. He proudly called Edmond, Oklahoma his home for most of his life, where he developed a career at Browns Manufacturing before moving on to TCIM. Mark retired in 2013, relocating to Eufaula, Oklahoma to enjoy life at the family vacation home on the lake.
Mark was a dedicated family man, survived by his wife, Betty Burton; son, Aaron Burton and his wife, Lacie; daughter, Devon Scott and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, Collin Burton, Abby Scott, Austin Scott, and Sarah Scott; and 8 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Allen Burton and Jean Collet, and his sister, Janet Walker.
Known for his technical skills and incredible wit, Mark was also an ardent musician, playing bass guitar for many years with The Soul Walkers. He had a unique sense of humor, loved to disassemble and improve gadgets of all kinds, and had an intense love for his family. His favorite activities included slalom skiing, boating, playing music, cheering on OU football and Thunder basketball, and creating cherished memories on the lake with his children and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, at 10 am at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and deeply loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
