

Coke Makerney, Jr., was born July 29, 1936, in Oklahoma City to parents Coke & Hattie Ruth “Patsy” Makerney. He passed away at home in Edmond on January 30, 2015. Coke was an Air Force Veteran, multi-million-mile Trucker, State Deputy Sheriff, Mason, Shriner, and Elk. He loved to dance and sing karaoke. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and barbecuing in “The Coke & Smoke”.
Coke was preceded in death by his parents; son, Carlton Lee Makerney; and grandson, Shawn Gardner. He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Donna “Joddy” Morgan; children: Coke Douglas Makerney, Christina Ann Rapple & husband Wayne, Claude Cohen Makerney & wife Kelly, and Hank Wayne Makerney, Sr., & wife Sonia; grandchildren: James, Sr. & Amy Gardner, Preston & Summer Makerney, Megan Henry, Hank Makerney, Michael Makerney, and Jason Makerney; great-grandchildren: Caitlin Kimbrough, James Gardner, Jr., Peyton Makerney, and Sadie Makerney; siblings: Carlton Makerney, Patsy Durham, Steve Makerney, Joe Makerney; first wife, Joy; second wife, Johanna Makerney; and many other family members and friends.
Viewing will be at Baggerley from 9am to 8pm, Tuesday, February 3. Funeral service will be 10am, Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be 2pm, Thursday, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK.
