

An extraordinary athlete with a deep passion for cycling, Daniel was a multi-time state champion in road racing and mountain biking, an accomplishment that earned him a prestigious invitation to the Olympic trials. Daniel started his glass business with a drive to succeed which he accomplished and ran for 30 years. Beyond his competitive drive, Daniel found his greatest joy in life’s simpler, peaceful moments. He loved nothing more than spending warm, sunny days out on the lake, sharing laughter and beautiful moments with his wife Veronica Lea.
Daniel’s legacy of love, dedication, and connection lives on through his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica Lea Borrell, his devoted mother, Kay Elizabeth Smith of Frederick, OK, sons Mathew Daniel of Edmond, OK, Michael David and his wife Kelli of Edmond, OK, grandchildren, Ayden David 16, Asher Liam 10, Olivia Eleanor Rose 8, Landon Thomas 9, Leighton Marie 6, sisters, Gale Evelen Hunt, of Wasua NE, Carol Ann Alexander and her husband Barry, of Chickasha, OK, and Cynthia Sue Smith of Frederick, OK, aunt Patty Breasheres and her husband Jerry, extended family Linda and Jimmy Madden and Willis and Cheryl Hardick, and beloved guardian dog Bear Carl. He also developed strong relationships with his employees Glendon, David, and Marvin, whom he considered family.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Samuel George Borrell; his brother, David Thomas Borrell; and his sister, Lynn Helen King.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034, on June 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
