Danny Lee Myrick, a beloved resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on August 9, 1947, in Conway, Arkansas, to his loving parents, Gerald Elias Myrick and Hazel Isolee Myrick (Howell).
His journey was marked by bravery, adventure, and unwavering dedication. After graduating from John Marshall High School in 1965, he embarked on a path of service and learning. Danny pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University before answering the call to serve his country voluntarily in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Rising through the ranks, he attended Officers Candidate School and distinguished himself at Ranger School, achieving the rank of 1st Lt.
Throughout his life, Danny's spirit thrived in the heart of Oklahoma. He found joy in the simple pleasures: the camaraderie of family fishing trips, the exhilaration of cheering on the OU Sooners football and softball teams, and the laughter that filled every room he entered. A man of many talents, Danny excelled in his professional endeavors, operating and co-operating numerous businesses, including serving as an Occupational Safety & Health Consultant.
Danny's faith was the cornerstone of his life, and his devotion to his family was unwavering. He was a source of boundless love, laughter, and wisdom. His legacy lives on in his children, Kim and David, and in the cherished memories he created with his wife, Sherry Myrick (Witt), whom he married on May 8, 1970. Later in life, he found companionship and joy with Beverly Myrick (Stuckey), whom he married on July 30, 1995 and welcomed her children, Sean, Tyler and Nicole. They spent many wonderful years together and created many memories.
His passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Duane Myrick, and his loyal canine companion, Pepper - the Peep. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by his wife, Beverly Myrick, his children Kim Cress and husband Jack, and David Myrick and wife Laura, sister Jeri Ross and husband Bill, cousin Chris Myrick and wife Amy and their daughter Alyssa, niece Tara Johnson and husband Brandon and their children Kayla, Connor, and Max, and his best friend, Ray Morgan.
Danny's life was a testament to the joy of living fully and loving deeply. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him. Danny Myrick will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever remain a beacon of light in our hearts.
