He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 shortly after graduating from high school. After serving two years, he received an honorable discharge and then stayed in the Navy Reserves as a Lt. Commander until retirement in 1988. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University, before starting a successful career with Equitable Life for 30 years. He was the recipient of several awards, including Western Zone Champion in group sales, before retiring.
Don enjoyed his volunteer work with OU Medical Center in Edmond, scuba diving and spending time with his family and dogs.
Don is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon; sons: Michael Sigler, Jeff Sigler, and David Sigler; daughters, Kimberli Martinez and Michelle Declue; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
We find comfort in knowing that he has finally joined his daughter Christine, who passed away at the young age of 9 years old.
Don was an avid supporter of St. Jude’s Hospital, so in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to this wonderful organization.
