Elaine Leonard Hunter passed away and was reunited with her husband the day after what would have been their 55th wedding anniversary on Saturday evening, June 6, 2026, surrounded by her children in her home in Edmond, OK. She was born in Jamestown, NY on April 16, 1948. Elaine was beautiful inside and out and was known for her kind and generous spirit. She worked as a registered nurse for many years and had a passion for helping others. She was a doting wife and mother and worked hard to be everything for everyone as they raised their children together. She was a proud volunteer for the EARC Thrift Shop, a dedicated blood donor, a dog lover, and made a friend any place she went, as she genuinely cared to hear anyone’s life story. She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. John R. Hunter, her mom and dad, Rachel and Irvin F. Leonard, Jr., her brother, Steve Leonard, and her brother, Lynn Leonard. She is survived by her three children, Rob Hunter, Amy Foster (JB Foster), and Emily Ford (Rob Ford), her seven grandchildren: Evan, Lane, Beau, and Dean Foster, and Oliver, Vivian, and Winston Ford, and her brother, Jim Leonard. Elaine had Multiple Sclerosis and endured many years of debilitating health issues, but through it all, remained positive and thankful for her care. She will be lovingly remembered by her family. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to do something in her memory, a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
